Welcome back, Jovi friends!
Life lessons in Bon Jovi songs continues with Too Fast To Live, Too Young To Die.

This is the seventh “outtake”;
A song that was never included on the album.

Too Fast To Live, Too Young To Die was written for Bon Jovi’s second album 7800° Fahrenheit (1985).

We have officially broke the chronological sequence!
We were already on the 1986 album, Slippery When Wet, when YouTube recommended me a 90 second outtake, from the second album:
“Too Fast To Live Too Young To Die”.
(and on an amazing YouTube channel JoviVids! )

2. Too Fast To Live, Too Young To Die 02:05

The phrase “Too Fast To Live Too Young To Die” is attributed to Malcolm McLaren, the manager of the British punk band the Sex Pistols.

3. Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis 03:45

The song reminds me of the 1990 movie Too Young To Die, a tv movie based on a true story with Juliette Lewis and Brad Pitt.
They Lewis were both in the earliest stages of their careers, when they made this movie, and met on set.
They became a couple and started living together with an X amount of pet iguanas, and would make a second film in the final year of their relationship, Kalifornia.

The song also reminded me of the Brad Pitt book I bought in the 90s, which contains interviews with Pitt promoting his movies, up until Seven Years In Tibet.
Including interviews that refer to Juliette Lewis.

I tried to watch Too Young To Die several times, but found the movie just too triggering.

However, their affair appears to have been surprisingly grounded for two people who were still so young, and working in the volatile Hollywood industry.
And the memory of it, has aged very well.

4. Backstage with Bon Jovi 10:35

Diving into the song’s background, I stumbled upon the official Bon Jovi website Backstage with Bon Jovi, released in 2024-ish.
Too Fast To Live was released there, and I saw the website has published other rare songs as well.

So in the upcoming months, I ll be going over the Bon Jovi Backstage website:
